2020 Dreams (Stanford University Press, 2023)

The year 2020 emerged as a pivotal moment in modern history, in many overlapping and mutually reinforced ways. 2020 Dreams: Toward a New Understanding of the Dreaming-Waking Continuum is an interactive digital project that illuminates the dramatic and epochal events of that year as witnessed from the vantage of collective dreaming.

My work on this project included full service end-to-end production and archiving as well as partial coordination of the peer and editorial board review processes. I also consulted on the rights and permissions review with the Press’s editorial assistant and rights manager. Though the custom design embedded into Scalar was handled by the authors and their development team, I performed a typical deep technical cleanup wherein I edited some of the style files for better functionality and flow and advised on best practices for platform customization. As with all Scalar projects I’ve worked on , I coordinated the in-platform copyediting and performed the cleanup processes.
